The candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of the digital offer across The Team. They will have an entrepreneurial vision for the future of digital work at The Team. Core responsibilities include New Business Development and Consulting, and secondary responsibilities include mentoring / training / knowledge sharing and Leadership activities.
New Business Development
The candidate will be responsible for a variety of new business activities. This will include activities under the following headings:
Lead generation
The candidate will be required to leverage their existing network of previous clients, partners and colleagues to generate sales opportunities. These could comprise of a mixture of digital and non-digital (integrated) projects, and would be expected to be aligned with The Team’s proposition of “Ideas believed, ideas delivered”.
Bid management
The candidate will have extensive experience defining the structure of engagements, both from a project management and account management perspective. He or she will work very closely with the Creative Director and Consultants to define the structure of new work and compelling reason for working with The Team. They may also write the brief on behalf of the client. This will then be used as a foundation for the management of bid activity, which will be led by the Client Services team to drive best practice through all activity. They will play a leading role when pitching for new work and presenting proposals to all levels of seniority.
Writing proposals
The candidate will have substantial experience writing and submitting proposals, and (having gathered appropriate input from team members) will be capable of writing complex proposal frameworks ready for colleague contributions. Following submission, they would also provide guidance to the Client Services team in defining commercial arrangements with clients (e.g. contract negotiations).
Consulting
The candidate will be comfortable providing consultancy services to clients and colleagues, from board level to juniors. This will include oversight for all projects of a digital nature to ensure (a) that the approach is appropriate for the given challenge and (b) the strategic vision for the project and account remains in focus.
- Involvement in those projects which merit significant input from a consultancy perspective
- Workshop facilitation to help define and resolve main challenges
- Provide input into process and methodology discussions to ensure best practice digital approaches are understood and implemented
- Identification of new market opportunities with regards to product offering
Leadership activities
The candidate will participate in various activities designed to drive up efficiency and operational effectiveness, including financial and planning meetings.
Mentoring / Training
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that staff across the business requiring mentoring or training are identified and supported. This will include people from all levels of the business.
Knowledge sharing
The candidate is responsible for ensuring that information relating to projects or specialist knowledge are shared using whatever tools are appropriate. This could include blogging, presenting to audiences outside The Team, potentially including sister agencies in the Writtle Group, and presenting at public events.
